about us
Viktoria Karieva, a Ukrainian designer, completed her studies in 2017 and left behind a long sports career to pursue a new path: architectural creation. Fate brought her together with Andrey Anisimov, whose experience in startups and real estate had already given him a sensitive understanding of how people perceive space and what truly drives their choices.
In 2019, they founded Between the Walls — an architecture and interior design studio where contemporary design dialogues with artistic movements, giving birth to eclectic projects with distinct character.
Their partnership becomes their strength. Viktoriia brings creative vision and an instinctive sense of aesthetics. Andrey brings strategic thinking and a refined understanding of business processes. Together, they build a company that, from its earliest days, faces major challenges: the pandemic forces them to rethink their methods, and full-scale war further disrupts their familiar landmarks.
These challenges lead Viktoria and Andrey to understand the true calling of their work: to create spaces capable of revealing the character of a person or brand.
One of the most important projects was the creation of a multifunctional space for Good People — an inclusive bakery where people with disabilities work. The Between the Walls team transformed the fourth floor into a conference hall for socialization and development of people with intellectual disabilities, while simultaneously creating comfortable housing for four employees who needed dignified living conditions. This project was realized free of charge and became an example of how architecture can be a tool for social change. Andrey personally contributed to raising the necessary funds to realize this space.
For the studio, architecture is a way to express oneself in the language of art. Between the Walls actively collaborates with Ukrainian artists, integrating their works into spaces and creating collaborations that present national art on the world stage.
In 2024, the studio realized a special project, a collection of designer chairs, created in collaboration with eight modernist artists. Each chair became a full-fledged art object, and the entire collection became a charitable initiative. The funds raised were directed to the reconstruction of buildings destroyed by war in Ukraine.
And in 2026, they realized an inclusive space — hub.4308 in the center of Kyiv — a platform for synergy between veterans of the 12th Azov Brigade, civil society, and business. The space consists of a store and café with lecture hall functionality, designed with an emphasis on accessibility and respect for context. The space is conceived as a meeting point for veterans, military personnel, and civilians who contribute to supporting the armed forces in various ways.
Between the Walls is a place where space becomes an instrument of transformation, where art leaves galleries to become part of everyday life, inspiring and supporting those who need it.
